St. Maarten, the Dutch side of the island, is the new homeport for Celebrity Millennium!

With the announcement of Celebrity starting cruises from St. Maarten to various Southern Caribbean ports, here is what you need to know, about flying to and cruising from St. Maarten

Ready To Book? Just fill out my Cruise Travel Request Form

Travelling to St. Maarten before your cruise, will allow you to explore St. Maarten, and help out the locals, by contributing to their economy. Fly in the night before, so you have time to visit the famous, MAHO Beach, where airplanes fly right over your head!

If you want to cruise from St. Maarten this summer, this is some of the things you need to know.

You may book your airfare direct with the airline, or we can book airfare with FlightsByCelebrity. They worked with the airlines to secure seats and subsidize prices. The lowest airfare pricing is available on 4 itineraries, so they will book quickly. Bookings opened March 25, 2021

Celebrity has also pushed back their departure time, so if you need to fly in the same day, it is available to you, although I still do NOT recommend this option. If you fly in the day before, you have more time to explore, before you need to board the ship!

Be aware of the mandatory Travel Entry Requirements to travel to St. Maarten. This is a direct link to St. Maarten Tourism website, for updated travel requirements.

Take a look at the picture.   This is from a Carnival Liberty 4 night, 5 day cruise to Bahamas.  This was the Motown trivia/dance/karaoke party.   This picture shows the variety of people on this Carnival Cruise.

With all my travel related research, and cruise experiences I have noticed that many type and ages of people go on Carnival cruises.  These are not just for 20 somethings.  I encountered every age group on my ship from young to old.  The one thing in common, they were all having fun.  This group of cruisers seemed to be very good about participating in those crazy cruise games and shows, which make those shows really funny.

On Royal Caribbean, I have noticed a lot of people who don’t want to participate as much in those games, or shows, and just want to sit back relax and watch.  However, you can still have a great time!

As for Carnival being a party boat....in my opinion, I truly believe if you want to avoid a party boat, you can.  I do believe Carnival party boats can exist in those short itineraries, say 3 days, maybe 4 days, along with spring break/fall break, but my 5 day was just enjoyable.  We were not aware of any fighting, there wasn’t any loud obnoxious people, everyone was just enjoying themselves.   I think Carnival is a good value cruise line, like a standard hotel, it’s nothing too fancy, but it delivers.  If you want an overall, resort-style feeling, you’ll probably want to choose another line, like Royal or maybe try the newest Carnival ships.

So, at the end of the day, I will be going on a Carnival Cruise again at some point.  If you go with an open mind, a bit of a longer cruise, and don’t go over spring break, I think Carnival can really be a FUN ship, without being a party boat.

You will also see me on many more Royal Caribbean cruises, as I simply love their bigger ships, broadway shows and entertainment.

Hope this helped!  Stay tuned for more blog posts and please consider subscribing!
